I combined my love of ocean sunsets with the ocean quilt patterns of Mariner's Compass and Ocean Waves. The lighthouse was inspired by Cape Elizabeth in Maine. I added the flowers of summer, roses, pansies, hollyhocks and brown-eyed suzies.
DIANE PHALEN is best known for her popular Americana Quilt Series of watercolor paintings. The series is a vibrant collection of watercolor paintings that feature flowers, cottages, barns, country stores and Amish country life with a rainbow of quilts hanging from porch rails, clotheslines and fences.
